Our Story

Why Green Piece Exists

Green Piece was created because Alderney is worth protecting. The island’s wildlife, coastline, countryside and community are incredibly special, but protecting them isn’t just the responsibility of governments, conservation organisations or environmental experts. It belongs to all of us.

Green Piece exists to make environmental information easier to understand and more importantly easier to act upon. The goal is not perfection. It is progress. One person. One action. One Green Piece at a time.

Local Focus

Everything starts with Alderney: its beaches, wildlife, green spaces, and the people who care about them.

Useful Guidance

We turn environmental topics into clear, practical ideas that residents, families, and visitors can use in everyday life.

Community Spirit

We want to spotlight volunteers, schools, organisations, and local businesses helping create positive change.

Steady Progress

We believe small actions add up, and that lasting environmental care grows through consistent, shared effort.

Our Voice

Built for People Who Care

Green Piece is designed for local residents, families, businesses, young people, visitors, and supporters who want to understand Alderney better and play a part in protecting it.

From wildlife updates and nature stories to sustainable living tips and community initiatives, the platform aims to become a trusted digital hub for environmental action across the island.

The goal is not perfection. It is progress.
